SunMed X Medtronic Malaysia -Visiting Clinician Program (VCP)

Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City collaborated with Medtronic Malaysia in running its first-ever Visiting Clinician Program (VCP) in the field of spinal surgeries. The Visiting Clinician Program (VCP) is a peer-to-peer education platform allowing visiting clinicians from all across South East Asia to gain and share practical knowledge on advanced techniques and practices in spine surgery from a recognised expert in spinal surgery. 

This first-ever VCP in Sunway Medical Centre saw two Neurosurgeons from Vietnam who visited and were attached to Spine Consultant, Dr Saw Lim Beng, to observe and learn from his expertise via observation of live surgeries & in-depth case discussions. This programme has received exceedingly positive feedback from the visiting surgeons and we hope that the VCP will continue to bring benefit to the medical community, and ultimately, patients. This program has opened up a pathway for cross-country knowledge transfer among industry experts and fostered closer ties within the medical community to advance technology and skills.
