In collaboration with SinChew Daily, Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City conducted a hybrid talk titled "Early Detection to Avoid Deterioration" featuring Dr Saw Lim Beng and Dr Lau Choon Ping, who shared insights on scoliosis and hunchback, respectively. This event has definitely increased public awareness of these conditions affecting our population and their daily lives, from toddlers to the elderly.
Our Orthopaedic Spine Consultants received an overwhelming number of questions and positive comments from the in-house audience, along with more than 12,000 participants who watched via Facebook Live. We were grateful to see that many had their concerns addressed. Unhealthy postural habits, lifting overloaded objects, and engaging in inappropriate physical activities can contribute to the risk factors for spine disorders.
