Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City had the honour of organising and hosting the Malaysia Society for Hip and Knee Surgeons (MSHKS) Circle Meeting 2024, themed "Unlocking Revision Knee Arthoplasty", in collaboration with University Malaya Medical Centre. This event brought together hip and knee surgeons from across the region, including both public and private providers. 

The in-depth discussion during the meeting deepened attendees’ understanding of “Revision Knee Arthoplasty”. Case discussions and topics were presented and discussed among the experts, followed by remarkable sawbone and cadaveric workshops for the orthopaedic surgeons by the surgeons.

Revision knee arthroplasty, also known as revision knee replacement surgery, is performed when an initial knee replacement has failed or worn out over time. This can be due to factors like implant wear, loosening, infection, or recurrent pain.

Not all providers and surgeons perform revision knee arthroplasty, as it requires experienced orthopedic surgeons who specialise in knee and joint surgeries, including revision procedures. Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City is among the few equipped to perform these revision procedures.
