Fundamental imaging tool in evaluating various medical conditions. X-ray is fast and relatively easy to obtain, providing information on structure of the bones through 2D images.

PET/CT is a powerful imaging technique that combines both CT scan and PET scan. Using radioactive sugar (FDG – 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose) as the tracer, a PET/CT scan is helpful in:-

• Detecting early diseases such as cancer or infection/inflammation
• Accurately evaluating the spread of disease (staging)
• Evaluating early disease recurrence
• Guiding treatment planning/biopsy
• Monitoring treatment response

Bone density testing is a type of low-dose X-ray test that is used to measure the strength and thickness of calcium and other mineral density in bones. It helps diagnose the early signs of bone loss in osteoporosis and assesses bone integrity after the use of certain medications or in relation to certain medical conditions.

SPECT/CT combines two imaging technologies – SPECT which shows biological functions in the body and Computed Tomography (CT) which shows detailed anatomical structures. A SPECT/CT scan allows your doctor to see how your organs function and help them to detect certain diseases. It is useful for a range of medical conditions such as bone metastases, renal function, cardiac blood flow, gastrointestinal function, immune activity, thyroid function and tumours.

A CT scan is an advanced imaging test that uses 3D images to provide detailed information about different parts of the body, including bones, muscles, fat, organs, and blood vessels for accurate diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI uses a large magnet, radio waves, and a computer to create a detailed, cross-sectional image of internal organs and structures. Unlike CT scan or X-ray machines, it does not expose patient to radiation as the images are generated with magnetic field.

The C-arm machine is a fluoroscopy system that provides real-time X-ray imaging primarily used for intraoperative imaging during surgical, orthopaedic, and emergency care procedures. C-arms are typically not used for diagnostics; they are designed to be used concurrently during surgery to ensure accurate placement of implants or devices.
